The role Join our team at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF) and play a pivotal role in advancing manufacturing technology.
As an Additive Manufacturing Development Engineer, you will work closely with our dedicated team to ensure effective project delivery, prioritize process qualification, standardization, and documentation.
This key position involves establishing and maintaining the installation, operation, and facility qualifications for both metal and polymeric additive manufacturing, contributing to the success of the AMRF.
In this role, you will collaborate with various technology areas within the AMRF to deliver innovative additive manufacturing solutions.
You will monitor projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they meet established goals.
As an active contributor, you will be involved in the design, development, qualification, post-processing, and testing of additive processes.
Your responsibilities will also include developing lean programs to support the manufacturing floor, installing and commissioning additive manufacturing machines, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes.
Demonstrable experience delivering high-quality design engineering projects that meet project objectives, quality and customer expectations, safety and environmental standards, and time, budget, and resource constraints.Hands-on experience working with precision machining and additive manufacturing in an industrial setting.Working knowledge and understanding of 3D design and simulation software, with a proven understanding of 3D printing applications in both metals and polymers.Ability to ensure the efficient installation and commissioning of additive manufacturing machines, managing complex equipment, facility, and schedule requirements.Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols in a dynamic and potentially hazardous manufacturing environment.Capability to act independently and as part of a team, using initiative to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide expert advice, support, and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.What is an essential requirement: Tertiary qualifications in engineering, architecture, industrial design, or related disciplines, or demonstrated, equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.
