Job DescriptionThis is a position within the Actuarial system team which has responsibility to assist Finance business areas for performing system changes required for ongoing BAU development and enhancements of actuarial systems in support of liability and capital valuations, embedded value, and business planning.
Key Accountabilities:
The Main activity of the role is to support the Actuarial System team in the design, build, test and implementation of Actuarial projection models (using the prophet enterprise platform) to meet additional model requirements from strategic project impacting finance analysis, reporting and operational processes.
Detailed activities include:
Prepare and review technical specifications that meet end user requirements and teams coding standardsPerform Prophet developments to specificationsPerform and document system testing activities (unit testing, regression testing)Perform model reviews and identify areas of model improvement and efficiencyDeploy approved changes to production environments in line with controls and proceduresIdentify areas of model improvement and efficiencyData Management Analyse and specify data requirements (variable names, formats, attributes) for prophet model inputs and outputsModify DCS processes to maintain system integration points in line with model changesContribute to the build and implementation of data flow process interacting with the IDR (Insurance Data Repository for Prophet model inputs and outputs) to meet IFRS reporting requirementsFinance System Support As part of the Actuarial systems team you may be called upon to aid in the provision of Finance Operational services including:
Actuarial System incidence management and resolutionSupport and train for Actuarial System end usersManage the availability, capacity and performance of Actuarial SystemsMaintain security and access procedures and conducting periodic reviewsQualificationsQualified Actuary (or nearly qualified)7+ years life insurance experienceDeep knowledge and experience with Prophet (programming language and software operation)Strong technical skills in programming and data analysisExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsStrong SQL skillsAbility to sense check complex resultsAbility to understand computer programming good practiceExperience in designing or managing databasesCommercial acumenExperience with Atlassian software workflow and documentation tools – JIRA and ConfluenceAdditional InformationAt TAL we value diversity in all its forms and are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable culture for all our people.
