About this role:This is a part-time role – 25 hours per fortnight. You will be part of a small team of Creative Lifestyle Facilitators and local volunteers with a breadth of talent and skills they draw upon to make a great program of offerings.
You and the team will design, coordinate, and deliver a variety of individual and group creative lifestyle activities that engage all residents/clients in ways they can choose, promoting wellbeing and vitality.
By assessing resident needs in collaboration with the individual, their families, and other care staff, you will design, deliver and/or source activities that meet their social/cultural history and spiritual needs.
What does a typical day look like for someone in your team?"Usually very busy!
Saying hello to the aged care residents and colleagues, delivering newspapers, running an exercise class, reading stories, playing a concert, and word games of some sort.
I also spend quality time with residents who can't make it to activities, and answer questions.
I also serve meals and offer technical support for residents, such as setting up Zoom meetings.
Oh, and laughing - a lot whenever possible!" - Team Member.
About you:You will role model client-centred ways of working and demonstrate that how we work and what we do is all about the clients and what they need.
You will enjoy the chance to explore different options and creative ways to allow residents to participate.
You may have worked with other groups of people to create and deliver learning or social or cultural activities in the past, where the goal was for positive outcomes.
People will describe you as approachable, engaging, and warm and you hold unconditional positive regard for each person in this stage of their life.
You will have demonstrated experience working with others to get things done.
It doesn't matter which creative passion or interest you have.
What matters is that you will work to find ways for others to also experience joy and satisfaction from participating in something meaningful.
A Certificate IV in Leisure and Health would be a bonus!
