Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Co-ordinator to join our team in a dynamic care environment. The Activities Co-ordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. This role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively with both residents and staff, ensuring that all activities are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our senior care population, including those with dementia.
Our Activities Co-ordinator will lead on the development and facilitation of activities to promote the health and well-being of individuals. Our residential care home is a friendly, 26 bed Care Home, supporting people living with dementia.
Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme that caters to the interests and abilities of residents. Coordinate group and individual activities that promote social interaction, physical fitness, and cognitive stimulation. Communicate regularly with residents to assess their interests and preferences in order to tailor activities accordingly. Collaborate with care staff to ensure that all activities are suitable for residents' health conditions and care plans. Organise special events, outings, and celebrations to foster community spirit within the care home. Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback from residents to continually improve the programme. Experience Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home, care home, or senior care setting is highly desirable. A background in dementia care or working with individuals with varying levels of cognitive ability is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, families, and staff members. A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of our residents through meaningful engagement and care.
