ABOUT US Activated Concepts is a community-based specialist clinical provider in the mental health and NDIS space. We also offer a variety of other services, including family support services and clinical training.
We are highly regarded for our leadership in trauma-informed practice and have partnerships with NSW Health, the NSW Department of Justice, the University of Newcastle, and large employee assistance providers.
PRIMARY PURPOSE This vital leadership role provides practice leadership to Senior Support Workers and Support Workers to ensure all participants have a positive experience every time they engage our support team.
Specifically, this will include recruiting, inducting, training, and supervising Activated support staff to apply the best practice principles in trauma-informed, person-centered care.
This role is linked to practice and will have a small caseload of complex clients to model best practices for other staff.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Managing talent attraction, timely recruitment, induction, and staff training of Senior Support Workers and Support Workers, in consultation with the Manager – Community and Living Services.Provide supervision and practice leadership to Support Workers and Senior Support Workers to ensure participants feel heard, seen in their context, and supported throughout their partnership with Activated Concepts.Undertaking direct support of participants, where required, including a regular case load, cancellations, periods of leave or staff sick leave.Partner with the intake team to support them with matching participants and suitable workers.Lead the consultation, planning, and booking of all rostering for Support Workers.Leading high-quality, timely documentation and compliance of all administrative tasks to ensure accurate records and quality of support, including risk assessments, regular goal reviews, and supportability data collection and sign-offs.Provide stakeholders with high-quality operation support, undertake random audits to ensure that good participant relations are maintained, service standards are met, and any inquiries are investigated and resolved efficiently.Maintain a moderate caseload of complex clients, as needed, and approved by the Manager – Community and Living Services.Daily administrative, data-entry, and supportive functions upon direction from the Manager – Community and Living Services.Support the rights, interests, and needs of people with disability.On-board new starters into your service/s in a way that provides them with the information they need to be successful.Maintain the participant's privacy and confidentiality.All staff are expected to take reasonable care that their acts and omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others, comply with any reasonable instruction that is given to them and with any policies/procedures relating to health or safety in the workplace that are known to them, as well as notifying any hazards/risks or incidents to their managers.ABOUT YOU You're a passionate, empathetic, and caring leader who has extensive experience leading staff to 'excellence' by 'understanding', 'respecting', and nurturing their 'wellbeing' as per Activated Concepts values.You are passionate about direct participant support and understand the role is a hybrid mix of face-to-face participant support and administrative/leadership duties.You understand the importance of quality documentation and compliance and are vigilant in this domain.You are looking to make an invaluable positive impact on the lives of others and to foster talent within your team.You're calm, collected, and resilient in the face of adversity and are looking to carry these qualities with you into stakeholder engagements and to the frontline to support your participants and their families.You are an independent, proactive thinker and worker but are also able to follow direction/s given by your managers and can work within a tight-knit team.You have good organisational and time management skills.You have a good understanding of professional ethics.You love to learn and want to continue your knowledge contemporary.SELECTION CRITERIA Experience with complex mental health, behaviours of concern, and restrictive practices.Minimum of 3 years' experience within the industry (e.g., mental health, disability, aged care, individual support, community services or youth work etc.).Experience with leading a team, providing supervision, performance management, and performance improvement processes.Experience with creating a culture in which people thrive, mobilising capacity, fostering diversity, motivating, and inspiring staff to perform well.Demonstrated experience and ability to provide training and practice supervision.Demonstrated attention to detail with the record management and compliance.Flexibility to work over a roster and the availability to work overnight shifts or attend training or meetings as required.Understanding and commitment to confidentiality legislation and discretion.Current valid Australian driver's licence and a registered, insured vehicle.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING Current First Aid & CPR Certificates - prior to commencement.Relevant qualification in Disability, Mental Health or a related industry.NDIS Worker Screening Check - prior to commencement.NSW Working with Children Check - prior to commencement.NDIS Orientation Certificate - prior to commencement.OCG Child Safe Training - prior to commencement.Manual Handling training - desired but not essential.Qualifications in Mental Health, Disability, or similar.Assist with Medications Course – required - unless you have the above training.At Activated Concepts, we don't just accept difference — we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our services, and our community.
