About the Role St Monica's College, Cairns is now accepting applications for the position of Acting Assistant Principal - Curriculum.
The Acting Assistant Principal - Curriculum is responsible for curriculum development and implementation for the College. This role works collaboratively with the Leadership Team and staff to promote the college as a centre of quality learning and teaching, encouraging a climate of excellence where students are engaged and empowered to achieve their potential.
The Acting Assistant Principal supports the Principal by bringing a wide range of technological skills and the latest educational research. This role also supports the Curriculum Middle Leadership Team with innovative ways to plan and deliver curriculum ensuring alignment with Australian Curriculum and QCAA guidelines.
FAITH LEADERSHIP: To share in the essential Mission of the Church as a leader within the school Faith community. EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP: To support leading, learning and teaching as the Assistant Principal – Curriculum. STAFF LEADERSHIP: To develop self and others as the Assistant Principal – Curriculum. ORGANISATIONAL LEADERSHIP: To support the Principal in the management of the school as the Assistant Principal – Curriculum. COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP: To engage and work with the community as the Assistant Principal - Curriculum. STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP: To support the Principal in improvement, innovation and change as the Assistant Principal - Curriculum. Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements Participation in and commitment to the sacramental life of the Church. Understanding and commitment to education in the Catholic tradition. Professional qualifications in Education and Religion as per Queensland Catholic Education Commission Position Statement for Senior Leadership Positions in Catholic Schools in Queensland. Leadership experience with demonstrated ability in religious and educational leadership. Demonstrated administrative ability and skills in interpersonal relationships. High-level written and verbal communication skills. Skills for building community including facilitation, delegation and consultation. Professional qualifications in Education, Bachelor of Education. Minimum of 5 years classroom experience. A postgraduate qualification in Education. Involvement in professional associations. Capacity for leadership within a school. Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers. Current driver's licence. A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education.
