Title: Acting Area Manager Employment: Full time / Fixed Term (leave cover until 19 Jan 2026) Location: Dowsing Point, TAS About the role Reporting to the State Operations Manager, this Area Manager position is responsible for the delivery of our SIL (Supported Independent Living) services across Hobart.
This position is a fixed term leave coverage and will be supported by a national team of 10 experienced, passionate, and supportive Area Managers, who are here to support you achieve high-quality care for our clients.
Key responsibilities include: Service Excellence: Ensure our clients receive high-quality individualised services that enable them to successfully achieve their goals, take part in meaningful activities, engage in social relationships, and enjoy the life of their choosing.
Work with clients, their families, third-party service providers, health professionals, advocates, government agencies as well as Able Australia Staff to optimise client's plans to meet their needs and desires, to achieve 'better days every day'.
People Leadership and Management: Manage a team of diverse and dedicated Team Leaders who support their own teams of permanent and casual disability support workers.
Coach, train, and inspire teams to ensure excellence in their services Participate in staff planning, recruitment, service training and staff performance reviews, as required.
Business Development & Financial Management : Attend conferences, events and expos to represent Able Australia and support the expansion of our service delivery Maintains quality assurance, risk management, compliance and champions Able Australia's policies & procedures Skills and experience required to be successful in this role: Experience managing a team professionally, positively and demonstrated experience leading successful change Demonstrated experience in service management and the coordination and delivery of disability service programs.
Expert in developing high performance teams by creating great working relationships, gaining trust and respect Ability to network and connect with stakeholders across multiple levels internally and externally Experience within the disability services sector, NDIS/NDIA or experience in similar environments, aged, health or special education providing leadership to teams supporting vulnerable people Knowledge of legislation & regulation covering delivery of disability services to relevant state legislation or have worked in similar environments understanding of regulatory, legislative, quality & compliance requirement Demonstrated understanding and application of person-centred active support and plan principles Operational understanding or demonstrated experience of working with a client relationship management and workflow system (e.g.
CareLink).
Desirable: A tertiary qualification in disability services, management, aged care, special education or health services or another related field is desirable.
