About the Position We are looking to welcome a Specialist Family Support Practitioner (Identified) to provide advice, guidance, and coaching/mentoring in relation to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural practice to team members using a case management framework, including identification and assessment of risk.
Full time or part time opportunity (0.6FTE minimum). Position government funded until 30 June 2027 with possible extension. Level 5 Salary range under the SCHCADS Award is $97,378 - $101,788 (Pro-Rata for Part Time) + Super. To perform this role it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver an outreach model of complex family case-management programs to families and kids. Facilitating social learning, community connectedness, good health, and wellbeing. Working with other professionals and agencies utilising an ecological model. About You A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services). 5 years experience providing complex and intensive case-management and/or therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework. Cultural awareness and an understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Other Requirements Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption. Current driver's licence. Legally able to work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested). Cultural Authority and the willingness of a respected Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural referee to vouch for your appropriateness for this role.
