About the role As an Economics Consultant in the Sydney Office, you will work across all aspects of its advisory portfolio, including:
Development of methodologies and proposals Gathering and analysing information Client liaison and management Research, report writing, and stakeholder engagement A selection of our active and recent projects managed by the Sydney team include:
Developing a One-Sector Plan for the Australian Wine and Grape Industry Estimating the economic impact of pests and diseases on Australian grain crops Establishing the value of precise geospatial positioning Regulatory Impact Statement on the phase-out of single-use plastics Women in STEM program evaluation ACIL Allen provides all consultants with the opportunity to be involved in the full lifecycle of a client engagement, from developing scopes to presenting final reports and advice. You will get the opportunity to grow and develop your advisory capabilities from day one by applying your skills and background to complex, challenging and high-profile engagements.
About you To be considered for this position, you must:
Be able to work with economic, financial or other data and develop insights through your own analysis and unique perspectives Have the capability to communicate the insights persuasively through our reporting tools and in meetings and conversations with current and prospective clients Work both independently and as part of a team to shape the advice we provide Have a well-rounded skillset which allows you to work across all facets of advisory practice Experience in economics or public policy advice in a consulting or advisory environment, given our current and prospective book of work About your qualifications and skills 2 to 4 years experience in economics and/or public policy in a consulting, government-funded service, or advisory environment.
Tertiary qualification in a quantitative or economics-based discipline (such as Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, or Economics), or in public policy or public administration.
Advanced level of Microsoft Excel, with expertise in other analytical toolkits desirable.
