The Role: We're seeking a hands-on Accounts Team Leader to join our finance team in Melbourne.
This is a practical, action-oriented role where you will play a key part in managing transactional accounting processes, ensuring accuracy across invoicing, payments and month-end reporting.
You'll be working closely with the Head of Finance and guide the team through daily operations, while continuously improving processes and driving efficiency.
What You'll Do: Own the day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, payment processing, and monthly reporting, ensuring accuracy at all stages.Mentor and develop the team, providing guidance on accounting best practices and troubleshooting any transactional discrepancies.Actively manage month-end close, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely delivery of financial data.Implement process improvements to streamline and enhance efficiency, reducing errors and increasing the speed of operations.Lead by example in promoting an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative culture in line with the Henry Schein One values.Your Skills and Experience: 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with a strong understanding of transactional processes.Previous experience in a leadership role, ideally in a hands-on capacity where you directly manage day-to-day accounting tasks.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and analyze reports, reconcile accounts, and manage large datasets.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics BC is a plus, but not essential.Proactive, accountable, and willing to dive into the details of accounting operations to ensure success.Strong communication skills, with the ability to guide the team while maintaining clarity in both verbal and written formats.Tools We Use: Finance: MS Business CentralCRM: HubspotCustomer Success: GainsightCommunication: Slack, SliteWhat We Offer: Flexible, hybrid working arrangements for a better work-life balanceA dynamic and creative work environment, with opportunities to make a direct impactGlobal career progression and development opportunitiesWellness and health benefits to support your wellbeingYour application will include the following questions: Do you have experience leading a team?
