Your role
As a Procurement and Payables Specialist, you'll be the go-to expert for providing SAP system and process advice and handling tasks to make sure solutions meet the business needs and optimisation opportunities with sustainable solutions across NSW Government's multi department myWorkZone solution (SAP). You'll work closely with stakeholders across multiple NSW Government Departments and Portfolios on the myWorkZone solution (SAP) to drive changes and improvements that enhance harmonisation and program results. Your role involves identifying, analysing, and facilitating enhancements to business systems, processes, and workflows, all in line with our strategic goals and operational plans.
What you'll do
Your role involves:
Create tools and set up processes to support, analyse, and drive improvements in myWorkZone, business processes, and workflows, all while sticking to myWorkZone guidelines and meeting the unique needs of different agencies. Lead research and analysis of best practices to ensure that the internal and external services are delivered efficiently. Make sure business outcomes are tracked and reported, and quickly identify any systemic or emerging risks. Provide proactive, evidence-based advice and reports to the Director or Group Director, ensuring proposed solutions meet business needs, identify change impacts, and are sustainable. Prepare advice in the form of briefs, policy papers, and discussion documents in response to requests from the myWorkZone governance forum and leadership.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including Business Process Owners, Cluster Transformation Lead, and Corporate Services teams) to continuously monitor and identify changes and improvements in corporate practices, including the use of technology and other operating models.
What we're looking for
Beyond the basics, the ideal candidate should:
Significant experience providing business analysis and solution recommendations for SAP Purchasing and Accounts Payable core and submodules. Stay updated on current and emerging best practices, government policies, and statutory requirements as they relate to Purchasing and Accounts Payable. Manage complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders within agreed timelines, considering their varying expectations, viewpoints, and interests. Achieve multiple project objectives despite limited resources and tight deadlines, identifying project interdependencies and balancing competing demands and priorities. Be able to work independently, managing their workload and providing advice and recommendations, while contributing to the development of systems, frameworks, team planning, and projects. Make decisions within government and legislative policies, ensuring quality control in their work and any supervised staff's work. Base recommendations on solid evidence, but also be able to use judgment under pressure or when information is incomplete, serving as an expert advisor to internal stakeholders and externally up to the Ministerial level.
