Accounts Payable Officer - Part Time

Part Time Accounts Payable Officer job opportunity with a well-known Not-for-Profit business located in Melbourne's South East suburbs.Position Overview:The Part-Time Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all incoming invoices, payments, and other financial transactions. The role will involve maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal departments, ensuring that all accounts payable activities are compliant with organizational policies, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance team.Key Responsibilities: Process all accounts payable transactions, including receiving, verifying, and reconciling invoices and payment requests.Ensure proper approval and documentation for all invoices and payment requests, following organizational policies.Prepare and process payments, including cheque, EFT, and credit card transactions.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable, including tracking outstanding invoices and payment status.Reconcile accounts payable reports with the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies.Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any issues regarding invoices or payments.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all accounts payable transactions are recorded accurately.Maintain vendor database, including updating contact information and payment terms.Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and reports as required.Support the Finance Manager and team with other accounting tasks and projects as needed.Qualifications and Skills:Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role, preferably within the not-for-profit sector.Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, procedures, and financial reporting.High level of attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with efficiency.Proficient in accounting software.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with vendors and internal stakeholders.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.A commitment to the values and mission of the not-for-profit sector.Work Hours:This is a part-time position, approximately 30-32 hours per week spread across 5 days, with flexibility on working days and times.How to Apply:Interested candidates are invited to submit a resume to .
