Role Overview... We're looking for a talented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our Senior Accountant and our Finance Team with both accounts payable and payroll responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities... Accounts Payable Using Xero as our accounting platform you will enter invoices from suppliers and seek/confirm internal approval delegations have been followed.Complete two standard AP runs a week plus exceptions as required for urgent items. These are primarily in AUD with some international payments from time to time.Complete monthly reconciliation processes including liaising with colleagues for evidence on recurring bills.Assist the Senior Accountant on other financial control duties from time to time, including supporting year-end audit process/questions as they relate to Trade Payables.Have excellent attention to detail, customer service skills and efficient processing habits.Payroll Using XERO as our payroll platform you will complete a monthly pay run for ~80 people on salary (Fair Work Australia).Complete a casual pay run fortnightly for ~3-5 people from Timesheets.Complete compliance duties (e.g. PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation payments) in line with required monthly submission dates.Answer questions from People and Culture, colleagues and Team Leaders.Provide support to P&C for annual pay increases, ad hoc queries, new starters.Set up new starters; finalise leavers; review leave entries from HR system (BambooHR).Support year-end audit process and questions as they relate to Payroll.Top things that will make you successful… A team player with initiative and a positive, can-do attitude.Excellent attention to detail and administration skills with a strong focus on delivery.Discretion with confidential and sensitive personnel matters.Good personal time management and can thrive in an environment that is constantly changing.Experience... 3-5 years' experience with AP and Payroll is expected and experience with Xero preferred.Australian workplace experience required.Strong understanding of Australian Fair work as it relates to pay and entitlements.Proficiency in Microsoft (Excel in particular) and an ability to multitask and manage time effectively.Experience in a medium-sized business or within a start-up environment would be advantageous.Additional Information... Sydney based role (Crows Nest office location and WFH hybrid).Part time (20 hours a week either 5x short days or 3x days).Why Work with us...
