About the role: We are on the lookout for an Accounts Officer to join our Finance team on a 6-month Part Time Secondment with the possibly to extend. This role holds a crucial position within the Finance Team, assuming responsibility for managing the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions across all State Sport Centres Trust venues. This part time role is fundamental to upholding the financial integrity and performance of the organisation, ensuring meticulous accuracy, high quality, and readily available audit trails. This opportunity is an ideal platform for growth and development for an internal candidate with a strong interest in finance or someone seeking practical experience while studying finance or a related field.
Duties and Responsibilities: Process invoices, employee expenses, and customer refunds promptly and accuratelyReview and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy in data entryObtain necessary approvals in a timely manner to facilitate prompt paymentsCode purchase orders and invoices accurately and promptlyMonitor outstanding invoices, following up diligently to ensure timely paymentsKeep track of creditor accounts to ensure payment deadlines are metPrepare weekly payment runResolve or escalate creditor and supplier queries promptlyAssist with accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and monitoring aged debtorsSupport month-end tasks such as reconciliations, accruals, and journal entriesManage vendor administration, ensuring completeness and accuracy of vendor informationProvide supporting documentation for auditsContribute to broader finance projects and initiatives as requiredSupport the Finance Team and other business units as neededPerform any other duties as assigned Skills & Required Knowledge: Required: Working with children's check National police check Bachelor's degree preferred, but not mandatory.Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting principles.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel How to apply: Please sendthrough a resume and a cover letter to support your application for this role at Melbourne Sport Centres.
