SeaLink North Queensland Join an award-winning ASX-listed tourism and transport company Access to a range of employee benefits Rewarding permanent role based in Townsville About the Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will have responsibility for overseeing and managing the financial activities of the organisation, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities also include: Accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking processors including invoices, expense claims and credit card payments.
Produce and manage Purchase Orders including regular reporting of actual spend against projects Allocate invoices to appropriate cost centres, general ledger accounts and tax codes and ensure approval is in accordance with the financial delegation, policies and procedures Ensure integrity in the master data setup including suppliers and customers and assist in the maintenance of the finance systems Identify, develop and implement business process improvements within the Finance department and greater business Reconciliation of supplier balances with the financial system balances and escalate any issues that arise to the Manager of Finance Control and manage the bank reconciliation process Prepare reports and other documentation for management when requested.
Be the first point of contact for internal and external customer payment enquiries including audit queries While the role is based in Townsville, it is responsible for supporting the Townsville and Northern Territory SeaLink businesses.
About You You will have an excellent understanding of accounting practices and their application, along with superior numerical ability and accuracy.
You will be an effective team player and have at least 5 years experience in working in a similar role.
You will also have the following knowledge, experience, and skills: Proven experience as an Accounts Officer or similar role.
Experience across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Proficiency in accounting software and superior skills in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective time management skills.
Self-motivated, proactive and great work ethic.
Ability to meet deadlines & maintain strong performance under pressure If you are studying towards or who have completed a Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, you will be highly regarded.
Prior experience working in a shared services environment is desirable.
