About the role
The role of Accounts Officer is essential in supporting the smooth operation of our College's business operations, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring efficient and timely accounting and administrative processes.
The Finance and Administration team is a small, dynamic group who work collaboratively in a productive environment that is expanding with the growth of the College. This position reports to the College Accountant and will work closely with the current Accounts Officer and the Financial Accountant.
What you'll be doing Accounts Payable:
Processing of all creditor invoices (includes payment approvals and electronic invoice filing) Reconciliation of all monthly supplier statements for review by the College AccountantPreparation of payments for approval and electronic funds transferPreparation and uploading to bank software of all creditor payment batches (EFT files, BPay and international payments)Recording, collation and reconciliation of monthly corporate credit card and master debit card statement expenditureReconciliation of Creditors AccountsUndertake daily recording of all direct debits/charges to the College bank accountsBus Administration
Management of bus charges in Synergetic/Driver OnboardFirst point of contact and proactive communication with all parents about bus bookings, deadlines and procedures, in coordination with the Community Relations teamCollection of all bus faresDaily recording of all bus receiptsPurchasing
Coordination of purchasing across the College to ensure efficiencies of billing and deliveryIssuing of purchase orders within budget limitsSupport Functions
Accounts Receivable
Receipting of payments of debtor accountsPreparation and maintenance of cocurricular and incidental billing to ensure these are accurately charged or credited to the College fee accounts in a timely mannerBanking of cash and/or cheques, if requiredWhat we're looking for We expect the person in this role to:

Current Working with Children's Check for Employment purposesPrevious experience with purchasing and purchasing systems would be highly regardedExperience in a similar accounts roleGeneral accounting knowledge, including general ledger, GST invoice requirements etc Software skills including knowledge of at least one accounting software package, Office, internet, email.
