Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Finance Team as an Accounting Officer (Projects).
Permanent full time – 35 hours per week Location - Moree Attractive Salary starting at $71,793 up to $82,544 (PLUS superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience Salary packaging options Rostered day off every 3 weeks - an extra 17 days off a year! ABOUT THE ROLE In the position of Accounting Officer (Projects) you will be required to provide an efficient and effective service to both external and internal customers of Moree Plains Shire Council to achieve a satisfactory outcome to all matters raised.
You will review the effectiveness of current Finance systems and oversee the management of Finance Policies and Procedures.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications: Certificate IV (or higher) in Financial Services, Financial Services (Accounts Clerical) or Business (Administration).
Experience working with a computerised accounting package.
Ability to prioritise work with conflicting time pressures and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team member and unsupervised.
Ability to solve problems using own initiative.
Ability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people.
Criminal History Check Clearance.
