The Accounting Officer in our client's Finance Branch plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate reflection of banking transactions within the financial ledger. Your focus will include daily bank reconciliations, monitoring transactions, and supporting the management of payment gateways.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Bank reconciliations across multiple sources. Journal processing and treasury functions. Managing revenue, expenses, credits, and GST (including tax-free applications). Downloading reports and journals from the CIA and CI systems. Review bank statements daily, ensuring accuracy and timely processing within the financial system. Liaise with stakeholders to prepare bank transaction data for processing. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist with end-of-year accruals. Provide high-quality accounting support to internal and external customers. Maintain compliance with policies and document all processes for transparency. Actively contribute to a safe and inclusive workplace. Other duties as required. What We're Looking For Intermediate Excel skills, with the confidence to track and analyse data and ask questions as needed. Prior experience in finance roles, ideally with a focus on reconciliations and tracking financial data. Comfort working independently and solving issues when information may be incomplete. Willingness to learn new systems (CIA, CI, Tech 1). Certificate III in Accounts Administration (or equivalent experience). Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in an accrual environment. Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels. Able to pass and maintain a clear criminal history check. Must have Full Australian Working Rights.
