Council has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic 'numbers person' to join the Finance team.

The Accounting Assistant will assist the Senior Accountant and Finance Team across a wide variety of interesting and meaningful work, in a supportive and welcoming environment.

In this role, you'll deliver efficient financial and administrative support, ensure the timely completion of accounting tasks and reports in conjunction with the Senior Accountant, and collaborate across the organisation to provide exceptional, customer-focused finance services. Bring your skills to drive innovative solutions and enhance our practices.

What you need to Succeed Completion, or working towards a Tertiary qualification in Commerce, or Business or relevant practical experience in accounting or related field.Understanding of financial accounting best practices and principles.Strong administrative and organisational skills, including working to deadlines and multi-tasking.Strong digital proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite and proficiency in excel.Developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to provide strong customer service.Ability to deal discreetly and tactfully with confidential and sensitive matters.Ability to work harmoniously within a team environment and promote a team approach.
