Quinn Allan is partnering with an industry leading global organisation who are seeking an Accounting & Advisory Lead to join on a full-time permanent basis. This is a newly created role based in Melbourne CBD working in a high performing finance function. About the Position
Reporting to an impressive and supportive Finance Manager with a dotted line to the Financial Controller, this is a highly visible position that will give you exposure to a wide variety of activities, allowing you to become an instrumental member of the team from the outset.
Key responsibilities include:
Act as the internal governance / compliance SME and provide support across a range of governance and controls projects;Assist in preparing technical accounting position papers and relevant accounting policies in alignment with global accounting policies;Act as a point of contact for external auditors on any technical accounting matters;Take a lead role in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual APRA returns and coordinate the APRA regulatory audit and internal audit;Assist with the interpretation and implementation of new regulatory and accounting standards;Ensure awareness of emerging SOX and other relevant compliance requirements and coordination with internal audits and external audits SOX testing requirements;Support and assist the Financial Accounting team in preparing complex note disclosures where required for statutory financial reports;Be involved in the implementation and roll-out of Finance Transformation projects.About You
You will be CA / CPA qualified and ideally possess a minimum of five to six years experience in a Big 4/Mid-Tier audit chartered environment or have gained strong financial reporting exposure within mid to large listed/private entities. Strong technical accounting knowledge will be critical to success in the role and exposure to sox compliance and APRA requirements would be highly advantageous but not essential. You will be forward-thinking, have a capacity and desire to support peers in the wider team and possess excellent stakeholder management skills.
