This 12-month contract will see the accountant take on a lead role in key finance automation initiatives which focus on removing onerous and manual finance processes from our stores.
This role calls for strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, effective time management, and adaptability to dynamic environments. If you have these qualities, you could be the perfect fit!
Day to day you'll be… Execute project planning from ideation, requirements, design, build, testing, deployment and migration to business-as-usual (BAU) operation Research, implement, and support new operational and finance system implementation when necessary. Report, write, and document desktop and system procedures. Develop proofs-of-concept to validate solution feasibility Performs project assurance to validate that solution architecture aligns with the enterprise architecture Write test plans that enforce the acceptance criteria of features and keep them updated Document and understand data needs of finance system requirements, which may include bank reconciliations, fixed assets, revenue recognition, cash and financial close. Presenting data analysis - interpretation in clear and compelling manner Proactively report project outcomes, progress, risks and escalations Engage with internal and external solution providers to help the Finance team plan project outcomes and deliver to plan Promote improved communication, collaboration, organisation and teamwork skills both internally and with other departments Facilitate decision-making process by operations and finance personnel Develop and implement robust communications plan to ensure successful management of change Assist and train finance and accounting team members on how to use the system which includes providing guidance to the team on existing tools, as well as assist them with researching issues. Execute other projects and duties that may be assigned. We'd love to hear from you if you have… 2-3 years' experience in a finance role (internal Store finance experience preferable but not essential) Accounting degree (CPA/CA would be beneficial but not essential) Ability to work independently and part of a team Ability to work in a dynamic & complex business environment Proven success in driving project initiatives and delivering through project management High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure High attention to detail.
