This is an exciting time to join a company that values initiative, attention to detail, and professional development.The Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a dynamic team within a leading property and retirement living sector organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced financial professional to take the next step in their career, working across a portfolio of operating villages and new developments.In this role, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including Village Managers and the Operations Manager. You will also liaise with external service providers such as auditors and quantity surveyors. The role involves overseeing financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, payroll, and settlement adjustments while playing a pivotal part in process improvement and compliance. You will work closely with the team to provide financial oversight for six operating villages and contribute to ongoing projects as the company continues to grow.Key Responsibilities:Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations for six operating villages and financial reporting to Village and Operations Managers, including detailed variance analysis on utilities and other expenses.Quarterly Financial Reporting to residents, formatted from monthly data for clarity.Payroll Management for six operating villages and two corporate entities (after a settling-in period), including reconciling commissions, Work Cover, and Payroll Tax.Settlement Adjustments: Calculate monthly fees for incoming and outgoing residents, upload charges into MYOB, and maintain resident schedules.Intercompany Transactions: Process recurring transactions such as payroll adjustments, commissions, insurance, and admin fees, ensuring accuracy and recalculations as necessary.As you settle into the role, take on tax calculations, depreciation, and balance sheet reconciliations for the corporate side of operations.Contribute to monthly reporting for new projects as they develop, requiring adaptability to evolving reporting needs.About You:You have at least 5+ years of experience in a similar role and a degree in Business or Commerce, with CA or CPA certification (or progress towards it). Your technical expertise includes strong proficiency in Excel, MYOB, and financial reconciliations. Experience with the retirement or property sector is highly regarded. You're detail-oriented with a proactive approach to improving templates and processes.
