The Accountant supports and assists a designated finance team with a broad range of high-level and complex financial management, reporting and planning responsibilities. Specifically, the Accountant will assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecast submissions, staff management plans, monthly reporting and reconciliations.

As an Accountant (Research) you will: Plan and oversee the operational budgets of the Research and Innovation Portfolio, monitoring expenditure and reporting on variances to all key stakeholders on a regular basisEngage in process improvement activities and adopt new ideas to ensure that funding is spent in accordance with strategy and best practiceEstablish and maintain strong relationships with relevant government, industry, funding bodies, higher education institutions, professional and community organisationsEstablish and demonstrate a high level of learning, energy and commitment. Maintain personal integrity and make decisions consistent with university values.To be successful, you'll have: A Degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or equivalent combinationCertified Practising Accountant / Chartered Accountant (or studying towards completion) is desiredExperience at a senior administrative level in financial administration and related activities, preferably in a University or other large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies and proceduresRelevant experience in the preparation and monitoring of complex budgets and performance reportsHere's how to apply:  Please submit your updated resume and a short cover letter outlining your skills and experience.
