Randstad Senior Finance are working with a respectable bank to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant to join their Finance team on a temporary 4 month contract. This opportunity intends to support the existing finance team as they approach year end. Role Profile: As a Senior Financial Accountant within their Finance division, you will play a crucial role in providing financial management, insights, and solutions to support the group's goals. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Statutory Reporting, you will be responsible for key accounting functions and ensuring accurate financial reporting during key reporting periods. Your duties will include: Preparation and review of disclosure packs for the full year financial report Supporting key accounting reviews such as consolidation assessments and impairment reviews Conducting day-to-day financial accounting functions including reconciliations and journal processing Assisting during audit processes Analysing financial performance from prior periods and identifying key drivers Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise accounting processes and implement best practices Core Relationships: In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders including the Financial Controller, Group External Auditors, Corporate Secretariat, and Finance team. Qualifications and Certifications: To excel in this role, you will need: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Current membership in a related professional accounting body (e.g., ICAANZ, CPA) or international equivalent Prior experience within a mid-large organisation in an accounting role Previous experience in the financial services industry is preferred Advanced Excel skills are preferred Risk Responsibility: You will be expected to ensure all work practices comply with Bank policies, corporate procedures, and regulatory requirements. Any instances of non-compliance should be identified and reported appropriately.
