About the Opportunity: An opportunity has become available to join the Finance team as an Accountant Payables & Revenue in a permanent capacity, to start immediately. The objective of this position is to undertake City of Darwin financial and accounting activities in line with policy, statutory and professional standards. This role will provide high quality, compliant and professional accounting services in the areas including but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable. The role is responsible for the operational leadership of the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate delivery functions, responsibilities and services. This role will support the Manager Financial Services in the delivery of the Revenue and Accounts Payable functions.
About YOU: The ideal candidate thrives in a local government environment and has a solid understanding of the Local Government Act 2019 and related policies. You should be adept at meeting strict deadlines and have strong Excel skills. Key qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent qualifications and/or work experienceMinimum of three (3) years relevant operational experienceMinimum of two (2) years' experience in an operational leadership/supervisory roleClass C Drivers LicenceAbility to obtain a National Police Records CheckWhy join us?
