Our family owned and operated business is seeking an Accountant or Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team.
The Accountant will play an essential role, overseeing our AP and AR officers and work directly with the Financial Controller to ensure all business processes have been affected accurately and timely.
About the Role: Reporting to the FC, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Lead the month end / quarterly end / year end processesGeneral Ledger Reconciliations, Processing of journals and accruals (utilising May Day for Xero)Work in partnership with leaders in day-to-day operations to influence decision making by identifying opportunities and driving cost efficiencies.Provide financial and analytical support to add value in driving financial performance and decision making.Drive continuous improvements to reporting and systems.Overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions.About you: At least 3 years (Accountant) or 5 years (Senior Accountant) in a similar or aligning roleDegree qualified in Commerce, Business, or related field.CPA or CA qualified (or close to completion)Strong knowledge of Xero essentialExcellent eye for detail and dedication to accuracy.Previous experience in a multi-site retail business an advantageWhat you need to succeed: Demonstrated understanding of financial knowledge to apply accurate, concise advice on rules, regulations and processes in accounts payable and accounts receivable and how they interact with the general ledger, accrual accounting, GST and fringe benefits tax.Demonstrated high level of business acumen in a complex business financial environment with experience in accounts payable or accounts receivable, high volume processing environments and account reconciliations using complex database and spreadsheet functionality, while working under pressure.Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish rapport quickly and manage collaborative working relationships and engagement across a diverse internal and external client group.Developed analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to gather, integrate and implement information from a number of sources to enable accurate decision making that provides rigorous attention to detail.Developed digital literacy skills including demonstrated ability to successfully use spreadsheets and accounting and card systems including Xero or similar.Demonstrated initiative and the ability to provide accurate advice on financial and other data in a clear and concise manner to a variety of stakeholders.Relevant work experience in financial administration or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and/or training.Our Culture: Our National Support Office currently employs over 30 persons including our Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Technical Support, Regional Managers and Sales Teams.

Term: Ongoing, full-time basis
Remuneration: Commensurate with experience, plus superannuation 11.5%
