True North Copper Limited (ASX:TNC) is a copper and critical minerals mining company. The company's two major projects are the Cloncurry Copper Project (Cloncurry) and the Mt Oxide Project (140km north of Mt Isa).
We are recruiting a Mine Site Accountant. The position is located at the Great Australia Mine (GAM) in Cloncurry. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday – Friday.
As a direct report to our Financial Controller, you will be working closely with our senior management team on-site. Your role will be instrumental in assisting operations with cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the mining and resource sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and timely month-end and quarterly reports for management addressing results and variance analysis including recommendations for improvements as well as assisting in key inputs and commentary for external reporting.Manage and support ongoing budget and forecast activities, ensuring continuous financial planning and control across all operations.Post journals ensuring the correct application of accounting standards. This includes maintaining the financial integrity of general ledger and accounting records and preparing associated Balance Sheet reconciliations.Ensure Fixed Asset register is maintained including timely capitalisations and disposals, and appropriate depreciation methods are applied.Conduct end of month stock take and variance analysis.Assist in preparing audit work papers and working closely with the corporate finance team to address audit queries during half and full year.Carry out any duties, projects, and ad-hoc tasks within the scope and level of the position as directed by the Financial Controller.To Be Successful You Will Need To Have:A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualified (or working towards obtaining).Minimum 3 years' experience in the mining industry as management accountant or similar (required).High level knowledge of accounting standards.Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
