About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an Accountant to open the first Caption by Hyatt in Australia in Sydney. You will be responsible for overseeing the successful opening of the hotel and once open, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel Finance function on a day to day basis, working closely with your team and ensuring deliverables to all stakeholders.
Some of the responsibilities include: Assisting the Select Corporate Finance Director with the preparation of the annual Finance Business Plan, ensuring it addresses the business objectives of the hotel and the needs of employees.Regularly updating the Hotel Budget in close cooperation with the General Manager and Select Corporate Finance Director to ensure targets are met and costs are effectively controlled.Overseeing and managing the day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.Maximizing associate productivity through multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling to meet financial goals and guest expectations.Conducting cost audits and reviewing vendor contracts and credit facilities, obtaining necessary approvals to ensure accuracy, reasonableness, and compliance.Ensuring compliance with local financial regulations and overseeing internal and external audit processes to maintain the integrity of financial systems.Assisting with internal MOR audits and external audits, reviewing audit reports, and ensuring smooth audit processes.Ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reports requested by government or other parties.Fostering strong professional relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional service delivery.Reviewing the terms and conditions of vendor contracts and credit facilities, obtaining necessary approvals to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.QualificationsWhat you will bring to the role: Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is highly preferred.Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and compliance standards.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and maintain compliance with local regulations.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with all stakeholders and develop a culture of growth and accountability.Commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining professional, courteous interactions with guests and team members.Knowledge of local market financial regulations and compliance requirements.What's in it for you: Apply today and start your journey with a team that values Empathy, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, Experimentation and Wellbeing.
