Overview: We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Accountant to join our finance team and support our Pacific business, based in our brand new, modern office in South Granville, Sydney (with undercover secure car parking). Bio-Rad offers a hybrid working arrangement.
You will be an integral member of a small team and take full ownership of Reporting/Procure to Pay function. You will report to the Finance Manager, supporting the Australian and New Zealand finance operations of Bio-Rad.
You will be responsible for accurate and timely financial and management reporting. This includes month end reporting, treasury reporting, intercompany reconciliations, meeting assigned compliance requirements (GST Returns, FBT returns, insurance matters), providing support to the Finance team (e.g., reporting, accruals, SOX requirements) and collaboration with business partners (e.g., Purchase Orders creation; analysis report), providing support to the Finance Manager in value adding to business, and providing oversight and guidance to the Accounting Officer.
How You'll Make an Impact: Financial Reporting and general ledger Responsible for monthly & quarterly financial reporting against strict closing deadline. Perform necessary analytical reviews to ensure reporting is accurate. Responsible for Intercompany account reconciliations, including Intercompany purchases reconciliation across multiple entities. Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts. Preparation and posting of necessary journal (provisions, accruals, adjustments etc). Regular costing within SAP of intercompany-procured materials and investigation of material status to ensure smooth annual costing runs. Ownership of Fixed Asset Register accuracy, with regular stocktakes, disposal as required; ensure accuracy in depreciation parameters/calculations. Accounts Payable (supervision) Supervise, coach and provide guidance to Accounting Officer on Accounts Payable process to ensure that invoices and employee expenses are processed accurately – ensuring divisional costing, correct cost centre approvals and allocations are comprehensively understood and correct. Ensure all payments are made in a timely manner with no interruption to the business. Compliance Responsible for monthly GST Returns, annual FBT returns, working with Global team for insurance renewals, and government survey. Assist the business and Finance Department in meeting compliance requirements - local (tax returns, statutory reporting), audit and corporate policies & procedures. (FCPA, Corporate Accounting policies, SOX, Corporate Management guidelines, etc). Prepare assigned analysis report to business managers. Assist in month end processes including preparation of variance analysis and issue investigation. Responsive and supportive to business needs. Participate and contribute to projects across Asia Pacific as required. What You Bring: Sound knowledge of accounting practices & standards. Good interpersonal & communication skills. Attention to detail, positive attitude, strong work ethic & ability to meet deadlines. Strong team focus. Tertiary qualification in Accounting major. 3+ years' experience in similar role with SAP knowledge on reporting and accounts payable. Competent user in SAP ERP system.
