About the RoleAs an Accountant, you will play a key role in the finance team, supporting the financial operations across multiple entities. From month-end reporting to cost analysis and compliance, you will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes while contributing to internal controls and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:Retail Entity Prepare and post monthly journals, including prepayments and accruals.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., payroll, fixed assets, intercompany) and resolve reconciling items.
Upload monthly and bi-monthly payroll journals.
Monitor and review overhead costs (excluding salaries).
Analyse carrier and warehouse invoices.
Track aged debtor balances and work with internal teams to resolve overdue accounts.
Production Entity Prepare bi-monthly cashflow statements and intercompany Accounts Receivable invoices.
Monitor dispatches and ensure accurate pricing.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including creditors and production clearing accounts.
Collaborate with the production team to update and review wine production costs.
Compliance Prepare and submit monthly BAS returns.
Complete quarterly export levy reconciliations and annual grower levies.
Prepare the annual FBT return for the group.
Other Responsibilities Assist with month-end processes, including reporting templates and balance sheet summaries.
Provide audit support and identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
Support ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and projects as required.
What We Are Looking For:Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related field, and CPA (or near completion).
Experience: Minimum 2+ years in a similar accounting role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Dynamics AX12 experience is a bonus).
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to drive process improvements.
