27th March, 2024 This position is well-suited for an assistant accountant or accountant with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Alternatively, if you have a background in public practice, specifically in audit, business services, or tax, and are seeking a transition to a commercial accounting role, this opportunity may be ideal for you. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, including month-end entries. Other responsibilities include overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll functions and ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations of the company. The Responsibilities include: • Managing the daily financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll. • Responsible for end-of-month accruals, journals, and reconciliations to ensure integrity of the General Ledger. • BAS and FBT compliance preparation. • Assist in maintenance of the asset register of the group. • Assist in preparation of management reports to management. • Liaise with management and staff regarding account queries. • Assist with the end-of-year annual audit process. • Other duties as required. Skills and Experience: • Ability to problem solve and think strategically. • Strong organisational skills. • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. • Excellent attention to detail. • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills - written, verbal and oral. • Ability to manage your time to meet reporting deadlines. • Good working knowledge of computer technologies, including Microsoft Office suite of programs. Qualifications: • A degree in accounting (or similar) or Cert IV in Finance.
