Would you like to take the next step in your accounting career with us? The MiHaven Accountant works with and is mentored by the CFO to ensure that our financial records are managed and maintained effectively and efficiently, according to Accounting principles and regulations.
Using your CA/CPA qualification you'll be a hyper-organised, problem solver by nature who enjoys working in an innovative environment and for a B Corp social enterprise.
You'll be helping our team manage complex accounting, improve how systems work, and learn from our CFO as you support others.

To win this role you'll need to know how to Assist with month-end financial responsibilities such as preparing monthly reports, departmental reporting and variance analysis.Ensure compliance with GST, payroll tax and superannuation requirements.Maintain the Asset Register and Loan Register.Review bank reconciliations for all companies.Prepare monthly journals and general ledger reconciliations.Oversee Trust Accounting / Receipting associated with Property Management.Support internal and end-of-year statutory audits, as well as prepare statutory financial statements.Undertake other tasks, projects, and analyses as required by management, including but not limited to financial administration, grant acquittals, QBCC reporting, Qleave reporting and wage subsidy reporting.Prepare and complete journal entries, including monthly revenue & expense accruals, internal charges, and prepayments.Support the team with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Treasury functions as required.Investigate and resolve transactional issues affecting project spend reporting.Contribute to the development of financial and related business strategies to meet financial management and reporting needs.Oversee and support the training and development of a team of two finance staff.Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Finance/ Accounting/ Commerce or related discipline.CA or CPA qualified.2 to 5 years of relevant experience in areas of Management Accounting, Financial Accounting or Project Accounting.Extensive knowledge of XERO and Property Me (Desirable).Competent in assessing, designing, and implementing improvements to finance processes.Ability to think ahead and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.So, if you are passionate about accounting and want to make social impact with us, we want to hear from you.
