Ltd., a prominent service provider for industries such as Transport, Stevedoring, Mining, Marine, Forestry, Fuel Transportation, and Earthmoving, is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join the team at our South Burnie office in Tasmania.
The successful candidate will be crucial in addressing the company's growth challenges by managing financial policies, preparing detailed financial statements, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
As AJL becomes the main retail dealership for Kalmar and Mercedes, there is increased pressure to ensure financial stability and efficiency to support our expanded service offerings.
We seek an experienced Accountant with a relevant qualification or at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities for the Accountant Position at AJL Heavy Equipment Pty.
Ltd.: Assisting in formulating and implementing budgetary and accounting policies.Creating accounting procedures and maintaining internal control systems.Preparing monthly and annual financial statements for presentation to the board of directors, managers, key stakeholders and regulatory bodies.Ensure the accuracy of financial reports and compliance with statutory requirements.Conducting financial investigations and preparing reports to advise on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers and capital financing.Undertaking audits and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation.Examining operating costs and reviewing income and expenditure.Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operations.Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.Preparing tax returns for the organization.Cash flow and expense forecasting.Advising on budgeted revenue and profit targets.Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements.Managing and maintaining our computer-based accounting system.Working with the General Manager and Managing Director to appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects.Prior experience working within automotive or transport sectors is advantageous but not essential.YOU MUST BE: FlexiblePositive with a can-do attitudeWilling to join our team and be part of something great!Summary of role requirements: 2 years of relevant work experience required for this role.Working rights required for this role.Job Type: Full-time
