Who are we looking for?
Sigma Aero. Resources are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined accountant to join our team in Caloundra, QLD . If you're a proactive, flexible and experienced professional with a drive to succeed, you're the type of person we would like to welcome onboard.
Your role
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies Prepare financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing/statutory bodies Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports, and undertake audits Advise on matters such as business purchases, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency, and taxation Examine operating costs and organisational income and expenditure Provide assurance on the accuracy of financial reports and compliance with statutory requirements Offer financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operations Prepare taxation returns for individuals and organisations Liaise with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements Introduce and maintain accounting systems and advise on computer-based accounting systems Maintain internal control systems Appraise cash flow and assess financial risk for capital investment projects (optional responsibility) The essential requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, auditing, and insolvency. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to clients. Proficiency in accounting software and information systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; A proactive, can-do and positive attitude; Attention to detail and accurate work practices; Ability and willingness to adhere to deadlines and work schedules, and; Passion for safety and working as part of a team.
