The ideal candidate will have a passion for client engagement and managing their own client portfolio, as well as a keen interest in leading a team of accountants.
The role: As an Accountant, your role will involve overseeing all aspects of tax accounting, from preparing and reviewing tax returns to providing strategic tax planning and advisory services. You will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the firm.
Key duties and responsibilities: Preparation of annual financial statements, income tax returns, activity statements, FBT returns for all entity typesExposure to CGT, GST, Div7a, PSI matters and other tax calculationsAssist with tax planning including identifying key strategies to optimise the clients tax positionClient relationship management - building and growing current relationships with business owners and continuing to grow the client baseAd-hoc tasks including researching income tax matters and providing adviceAssist with management and training of accounting teamAssisting in review of team work, including financials, tax returns, BAS, IAS and special project work to bring jobs to completionAbout you: Minimum 2 years' experience in Public Practice AccountingCA/CPA qualified or currently working towards thisStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to build rapport with new & existing clients and demonstrates a genuine care for peopleA growth and curious mindset enabling understanding of the full needs of clientsPractical experience using Xero, Xero Workpapers and Xero Practice ManagerSound understanding of tax accounting principles and compliance requirementsProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience managing staff desirable, but not essentialWhy work with us?
