Account Manager Agronomy – Devonport

Join Nutrien Ag Solutions – the ag retailer of the future
Broadacre crop advisory opportunity
Devonport TAS location

For over 150 years, we have been committed to providing quality local advice, knowledge and expertise to growers. Nutrien Ag Solutions is one of the largest agribusinesses operating in Australia with a national network of more than 700 locations.
We are currently offering a great opportunity for a driven Agronomist to join our team. The focus of your role will be to develop strong customer relationships in this major agricultural region in Tasmania.
About the opportunity:
You will work closely with our key clients in the region to provide superior agronomic advice and inputs with a focus on horticulture agronomy and crop monitoring. You will share information with producers related to environmental and seasonal conditions affecting crop production, perform soil testing and study other factors affecting production in order to provide sound fertiliser, nutrient, and soil recommendations to improve quality and yield. The crop list grows every year with farmers looking to diversify, so we offer a great opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of horticulture/broadacre cropping. In addition, you will conduct field demonstrations and trial work for product development in conjunction with key suppliers. You will also work collaboratively with branch staff to drive promotions, merchandising and sales performance.
Your success in this role will be measured by:

The positive relationships you develop with our key customers and growers
Your success providing recommendations to improve crop production, resilience and sustainability
The positive contribution you make to the achievement of business goals
Your support of the Nutrien Ag Solutions culture and values

About You:
To be successful you will have a passion for Australian agriculture, demonstrating a solid understanding of products and production systems ideally with some exposure to horticulture/broadacre cropping but those with exposure to small crops/tree crops, pasture, woody weed control and irrigation are also encouraged to apply. In addition, you will demonstrate the following:

Strong technical knowledge in agronomic practices and application
A minimum of 2 - 3 years building enduring and successful partnerships with customers, delivering appropriate agronomic advice and services.
History of success in executing sales outcomes using your specialist knowledge of fertiliser, seed and chemical products and application applicable to those crops grown in the central highlands.
Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
A drivers licence; a forklift licence would be advantageous.

Why work for us?

A competitive remuneration package
Purchased leave scheme benefits
An additional day of leave – Nutrien Day
Gender neutral parental leave policy
A supportive, flexible, and engaging environment that will support personal/professional development
Opportunities to support community partnerships across our network
Be a member of a company committed to feeding the future
Ongoing training and development to pursue individual ambitions
A culture of learning!

We're invested in you
We have a strong culture of empowerment where your career is in your own hands - you have the accountability and autonomy to go as far as you're willing. And we genuinely care about you, with safety our number one priority. If it's not safe, we don't do it. We act with integrity.
Apply today!
