Hosting numerous events of all types, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth houses multiple event spaces, and a grand ballroom, with exciting, new restaurant and bar outlets to open in Spring 2024.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director of Conference and Events, our full-time Account Director - Meeting & Events role will play an integral part in maximising market position of the hotel. The day to day responsibilities will include:Meeting hotel targets as outlined in the sales and marketing strategy and hotel strategy and budget documentsManagement of an agreed portfolio of accountsSubmit reports on sales activities, competitor information market trends and any new opportunities as requiredProviding market intelligence on a regular basis and understanding of competitor strengths weaknessesIdentify new business opportunitiesConduct research to uncover opportunities, focusing particularly on "desirable business" and/or "need periods"Research new business for Sofitel Sydney Wentworth with focus on lead generation and conversionQualificationsHas the aptitude and willingness to undertake further development with Sofitel.Demonstrated passion for events and salesPrevious experience in reactive and/or proactive sales in hospitality industryPrevious experience in or in depth knowledge of conference and events marketPrevious experience in managing customer relationshipsExceptional communication skillsDemonstrated understanding of the sales process for large eventsAbility to manage competing deadlines to achieve resultsAdditional InformationJoining our team will unlock generous local, national & international industry benefits on accommodation, dining, travel, wellbeing & more from Day 1 .
