Job Description: THE ROLE We're looking for a Health AC to join our team and create meaningful and impactful campaigns for our health clients, including consumer health brands, pharmaceuticals, not for profit organisations, and med tech.
Working within our healthcare portfolio, you will have an opportunity to explore and learn about wide range of health topics and issues – from women's health (breast cancer, endometriosis, fertility) and gene therapy, through to innovative med tech, and influencer engagement for consumer health products.
You will work closely with Account Managers and Account Directors to create smart earned media pitches to share with journalists and tap into your understanding of the Australian media landscape to deliver the best quality work, supporting your team across program development, implementation and reporting.
For this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have your finger on the pulse and are up to date on all the latest trends in health, lifestyle as well as general news. You will understand what makes a story great and have a growing book of media contacts.
This position reports to an Account Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support your senior colleagues with day-to-day tasks and media campaigns: Research and monitor clients' business and industries to stay up to date on trends, developments and breaking issues, and in concert with senior managers, counsel client accordingly.
Develop and cultivate positive relationships with allocated clients, and their stakeholders/influencers such as media, third party constituencies, and current and prospective customers to convey key messages.
Develop media releases, pitches and materials, including research, writing, editing, collating and distributing through relevant social media channels.
Produce meeting reports, noting actions and ensuring appropriate interaction and follow up.
Cultivate your media contacts: Ensure accurate, relevant media distribution lists are developed and kept up to date.
Develop and cultivate a wide range of relationships across mainstream and specialist media relevant to client base.
Bring your creativity, developing unique, relevant and newsworthy story angles.
Cultivate strong relationships with social influencers relevant to client base.
Ensure media are proactively followed up to achieve agreed KPIs, cultivating a positive client presence.
Monitor and report on client and industry media activity ensuring media coverage is provided in the best quality and as quickly as possible.
Work with targeted media and influencers on story/content development.
Respond to and follow up media enquiries in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
Keeping coverage trackers up to date with PR coverage and assist the team with reporting duties.
Be a dynamo part of the Health and wider HAVAS Red team: Participate as an active and interested team member, providing support to colleagues and taking every opportunity presented to learn and develop.
Participate in brainstorms to generate media strategies and story ideas.
Bring your unique self to work and actively add to the team's culture.
WHAT YOU BRING Skills General knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Good writing skills to support development of media materials, i.e. media pitches, press releases.
Media monitoring.
Presentation skills.

Understand and begin to demonstrate how to build a compelling story narrative for clients.

The Basics A degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism (or similar) would be great (but not mandatory).
Interest in health (ideally including Australian healthcare system).
Basic understanding of Australian media landscape, including key outlets and journalists.
Basic understanding of social media platforms and influencer landscape in Australia (especially health).
A minimum of one year's full-time in agency or similar experience and proven proficiency to perform tasks required to a high standard.
Not being afraid to pick up the phone and speak to journalists and clients – an excellent telephone manner necessary.
Curious mind, eager to learn personality and a can-do attitude is a must!
