The Opportunity We have a unique opportunity for a skilled Senior Payroll Officer to join our team in South Melbourne! We're looking for a detail-driven payroll expert who can take charge of payroll operations, ensuring smooth processes, regulatory compliance, and outstanding service to our valued employees. Key responsibilities: Assist in processing end-to-end payroll for 4000 employees including onboarding and terminations. Interpret Awards and Agreements. Assist with the timely management of month-end. Work closely with the Payroll Manager and wider team. Collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve payroll-related inquiries. Prepare payroll reports and analysis for management. Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices. Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies. Required Skills and Competencies Strong payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry (but not essential). Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software (e.g., Ichris/Chris21, Kronos Dimensions/Pro Workforce) Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., Cert IV in Payroll Admin, TAPS/APA short courses and Aust Wide Tax Courses) are a plus. Exposure to Enterprise Bargaining Agreements ideally in the construction sector. Positive attitude and enjoys working in a team environment.
