The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position Maintain and manage the project cost and forecast system, including inputting, analysing, and reporting cost and forecast data. Perform and coordinate the daily tracking of project performance data (i.e. plant, labour, subcontractors and suppliers). Monthly financial reporting and reconciliations Work with the project teams to develop and maintain cost management plans and procedures. Demonstrate leadership in all matters relating to health, safety, environmental management, industrial relations and industry capability and inclusion Evaluate and negotiate contract variations and change orders. Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments to identify potential cost impacts and develop mitigation strategies. Prepare and present cost reports and updates to project teams and stakeholders. Coordinate with the project management team to ensure that project costs are kept within budget. Required Skills and Competencies A tertiary education background in Finance/Accounting, Engineering/Construction or similar Highly developed and effective communication & interpersonal skills Substantial experience performing in a similar role ideally in the construction, energy, oil and gas, or mining industries Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve and a solution orientated approach to your work with excellent attention to detail ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023 & 2024 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
