As an Accessibility Support Officer, you will be instrumental in championing equal access and opportunities for all students. Your core responsibility will be to provide essential support, accommodations, and advocacy services for students with disabilities or accessibility needs. By enhancing the recruitment, participation, retention, and success of these students across Think Colleges and Torrens University Australia you will help create a more inclusive educational environment under Torrens Global Education (TGE).

Day-to-day Accountabilities: Individualised Support and Case Management: Provide personalised support and manage a caseload of students with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met to facilitate full participation in university life. Coordinate accessible adjustments through collaborative planning and information sharing.Policy Implementation and Advocacy: Implement policies in alignment with anti-discrimination legislation and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities. Develop plans to empower students and coordinate necessary academic support, including study aids and adaptive technology.Community Engagement and Awareness: Conduct awareness-raising activities within the university community to promote understanding of accessibility issues. Contribute to the orientation and transition program, ensuring a welcoming environment for new students with disabilities.Collaboration and Consultation: Work collaboratively with community members and stakeholders to gather feedback and enhance participation for individuals with disabilities. Report to the Accessibility Advisor and collaborate with the Learning Services team to deliver an inclusive educational experience.Enhancing Student Participation: Promote recruitment, retention, and success of students with disabilities through targeted initiatives and support.This is a Full-time permanent position working from any one of our Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney campuses. Who you are You are a dedicated professional with a strong commitment to supporting individuals with accessibility needs. Your background includes:
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in disability support services, education, or related areas.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Disability Studies, Education, Social Work, Psychology).Working with children check.Understanding of anti-discrimination legislation and the rights of individuals with disabilities.Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and community members.Commitment to promoting accessibility, inclusivity, and diversity within educational settings.Police check may be required.Why join us?Bold, modern and agile, we're Australia's fastest-growing university, going from 164 students in 2014 to 40,000+ alumni across 115+ countries and 2000+ staff today.
