Additionally, you will be committed to achieving the goals embedded in the Future Fit Strategic Plan Future About the role The Student Accessibility and Wellbeing Office (SAWO) creates an inclusive learning environment for UNE's diverse population of students by supporting students to overcome barriers to their university studies. The Accessibility and Wellbeing Advisor provides specialised individual support to students who present with a protracted, high demand situation, health condition or disability to best accommodate the student needs and options for study. The Accessibility and Wellbeing Advisor works collaboratively with a cross-disciplinary team including Counselling and Psychological Service (CAPS), the Student Grievance Unit (SGU) and the Student Engagement teams for the provision of student support. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: The capacity to apply best practices approaches when providing support to student groups with complex needs High-level initiative as well as problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to build and nurture professional relationships The ability to interpret complex policies relating to student safety and welfare About the Group The Student Experience portfolio comprises four teams: Library, Residential System, Student Services and the Wellness Centre. The Student Wellness Centre provides a range of student support services and programs in a cross- disciplinary team including Counselling and Psychology Services (CAPS), the Student Accessibility & Wellbeing Team (SAWO), the Student Grievance Unit (SGU) and Student Engagement teams. The teams work in collaboration to ensure the highest standard of support for students to succeed in their studies at UNE.
