Business Development Manager - Transport & Heavy Haulage Low Loaders Australia has grown into one of the largest fleets of trucks in Australia providing a safe, prompt, and reliable transport service throughout Western Australia.
We are a leading provider of heavy haulage and specialised transport services across Western Australia and nationwide. With a brand-new fleet of Drake trailers and Volvo trucks, we deliver a wide range of transport solutions for heavy plant and equipment, oversized loads, tilt tray work, and truck and trailer rentals. We also offer prime movers, semi-trailers, and specialized trailers for rent, providing our clients with flexible, cost-effective transport solutions.
Strategically located across the Pilbara and other key regions, our fleet ensures unparalleled service throughout WA, including the Southwest and Wheatbelt.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Low Loader/Heavy Haulage Salesperson to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with industry experience who can develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identify new business opportunities, and manage transport solutions for heavy loads, specialized freight, plant & equipment moving operations, as well as truck & trailer rentals. As a Salesperson, you will focus on securing contracts for our heavy haulage fleet, including low loader and tilt tray services, as well as truck and trailer rentals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of logistics for moving large, heavy, and specialized equipment, offering transport solutions for loads up to 100T particularly within WA's Pilbara, South West, and Wheatbelt regions. Primarily responsible for building market share in your area through developing new business, other key role requirements will be: Generate and secure new business for low loader and heavy haulage transport services. Identify and develop opportunities for moving heavy equipment, oversized loads, and specialized freight across WA. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, including contractors, project managers, and industry stakeholders. Respond to customer inquiries and provide accurate quotes and advice on transport solutions. Negotiate and close contracts in line with company policies and pricing structures for both transport services. Provide input on strategic direction and service improvements based on customer feedback and market insights. Liaise with clients to provide updates on job progress, delivery schedules, and any issues related to transport services or rentals. Maintain a deep understanding of the logistics and regulatory requirements for transporting large and specialized loads. The successful candidate will be of strong character and work ethic and will honour our core values of People, Safety, Respect, Communication and Continuous Improvement - in addition you will have: Proven sales experience in heavy haulage, low loader, plant and equipment transport services. Strong knowledge of heavy haulage logistics, including the transportation of loads up to 100 tons and the rental of prime movers. Familiarity with tilt tray work and the unique demands of the WA transport industry, including the Pilbara, South West, and Wheatbelt regions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for developing relationships with clients and industry stakeholders. Understanding of specialized transport regulations, permits, safety standards for oversized and heavy loads. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously. Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to identifying business opportunities, closing sales, and managing rental agreements. Familiarity with fleet management software, CRM systems, and transport scheduling tools. Knowledge of heavy vehicle operations is beneficial but not essential. Valid driver's license.
