Location: Alice Springs, Batchelor/Darwin
Reporting to: Academic Program Leader, Graduate School
Licenses: Applicants must have an Ochre Card and a current Police Check and/or the ability to obtain these prior to commencement.

Required Qualifications: Higher Education Degree (MA or PhD) or Industry Equivalence (Learning Technologist, Curriculum expert, Online Learning Developer, Research or Evaluation practitioner, Integrated learning for equity and access)

Purpose of the Position: The Academic Success Officer is an integral part of the Batchelor Institute's Graduate School Higher Degree by Research team, contributing to the progression and success of Candidates enrolled in Batchelor Institute's national First Nations Higher Degrees by Research (HRD) program.
This position is key to maintaining our reputation for graduating leaders through an Indigenous Higher Education research pathway.
This role would suit someone with a passion for supporting the progress of research Candidates who are developing their academic practice and research knowledge in a Higher Degree program that is underpinned by Indigenous Knowledge.

The role is responsible for high level academic and practical support towards the success of current Higher Degree Research candidates.
This role requires a self-motivated and creative professional who can inspire excellence in research training and practice and communicate effectively with a diverse group of First Nations Masters and PhD candidates.

Duties:
Contribute academic support to ensure Higher Degree Research program standards are met and adhered to and Graduate School Candidate progress to successful completion of their award Undertake academic and practical support for (but not limited to) cultural activities, online program activity, and intensive peer learning opportunities Provide wrap around support and participate where appropriate in Candidate supervision panels and in the progression of Candidate Milestones Apply a working knowledge and experience of Higher Degree Research Educational programs and training opportunities with a best fit for First Nations Candidates success Identify and improve, refresh or develop resources to support Candidate research outcomes through research training Facilitate research candidate inclusion in wider research activity across the Higher Education and Research Division, at Batchelor Institute Other duties as directed by Graduate School Academic Program Leader Selection Criteria:
Academic and or industry track record which demonstrates experience relevant to contributing to First Nations success in an academic higher education program Capacity to foster and contribute to culturally safe inclusive and accessible working environment for all candidates, staff and stakeholders Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to a culturally diverse team within the social, political, and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, countries and organisations.
Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and to maintain a high level of administrative skill, motivation, and professionalism Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written, organisational and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of Higher Degree Candidates Demonstrated initiative and capacity to manage workload priorities to contribute as part of a distributed but focused and values driven team Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
