The Graduate School of Health (GSH) and the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation (SoSER) both sit within the Faculty of Health. The GSH is located in central Sydney in the Broadway Campus and the SoSER is based at Moore Park.
UTS Graduate School of Health was established in 2011 to address emerging needs of health professions. We provide innovative, practice-based education and high impact research across six key disciplines. The SoSER aims to produce high quality, globally respected research and educational programs in sport, exercise and physical activity, ensuring our graduates are adaptive learners and thinkers prepared for lifelong leadership and learning.
About the Role The Academic Services Manager (ASM) is responsible for providing senior administrative support and management duties for admissions, academic and student related specialities, and clinical placements within a growing and complex School environment. The incumbent will efficiently manage daily activities, develop and integrate new ways of working with detailed specific bodies of knowledge for projects and process improvement, make policy recommendations relating to admissions and academic programs including new programs/courses and those that influence change to operations within the Schools and University.
If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing course and student policy development, ensuring compliance and accuracy of information in UTS systems; manage student enrolments, timetabling, and course accreditation processes.Handling the admissions process for coursework and analysing data for decision-making on student forecasting and budget.Monitoring conversion rates, developing strategies to support enrolments, and ensuring alignment with internal and external accreditation requirements.Serving as a key liaison for policy alignment between the Lifetime Learner Experience Unit and Schools; provide strategic support for course development and manage proposals for the Academic Board.Addressing student inquiries and complaints professionally, managing student correspondence, and participating in marketing events for the school.Providing secretariat support for committees, representing the school in meetings, and ensuring accurate preparation of committee materials.Overseeing staff performance reviews and development and assisting in recruitment activities for the admissions and teaching portfolios.Managing financial transactions and functions related to the role.With examples, please outline in a separate document, how you meet the following key selection criteria: Highly developed planning and organizational skills with the proven ability to set and understand priorities and to work effectively under pressure.Ability to coordinate the evaluation of operational procedures, policies and systems, make recommendations for improvement and implement new solutions.High attention to detail with ability to analyze and interpret policy, maintain data integrity, resolve problems for students and staff, prepare reports, and assess performance.Knowledge of and experience working with curriculum management, academic governance, and learning management systems, applied within the tertiary education sector.Proven record of administrative leadership providing high-quality advice, support and guidance on academic program matters to senior academic and professional staff.Base Salary Range: $117,282 to $133,572 pa (HEW 8)
