Commencing January 2025 Oakhill College seeks to appoint an innovative Academic Head with excellent leadership, communication skills, and classroom experience. The successful applicant will have an understanding of the education of boys, knowledge of current developments in teaching and learning, and a passion and enthusiasm for teaching.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in the areas of: Teaching Italian and/or French across Stage 4, 5, and 6, delivering engaging lessons that inspire student achievement and a passion for language learning; Providing team leadership, guiding and mentoring staff to foster continuous improvement and a collaborative, high-performing teaching environment; Leading the implementation of new syllabi, ensuring the Languages curriculum is innovative, up-to-date, and aligned with best pedagogical practices; Creating a culture of academic excellence, setting high expectations and motivating students and staff to strive for their best; Assessing, providing feedback, and reporting on student learning to drive progress and inform instructional strategies; Developing and communicating a clear vision for teaching and learning, aligned with the College's goals and focused on meeting the future needs of students; Supporting staff development, promoting professional growth, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative environment within the Languages Department; Overseeing the administration of the Languages Faculty, including curriculum planning, resource management, and day-to-day operations; Managing student behaviour to create a positive and productive learning environment; A thorough knowledge of current pedagogy, ensuring teaching methods are informed by the latest educational research and practices.
