Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50), is located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. Gruyere was commissioned in 2019 and is one of Australia's largest and lowest-cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years.
Reporting to Senior Operator: Pit, your main responsibility will be to provide quality mine geology services and work collaboratively with the broader Mining Team to maximise return from the open pit operation.

Benefits include: Quarterly Bonus SchemeVirgin Velocity reward pointsEmployee Assistance ProgramAbout the role: Complete breathalyser and catch the team LV at 5:15am from camp to site (~10 minute drive)Attend pre-start meeting – work closely with other departments and actively talk about safety.Senior Pit Operator gives out jobs for the day which could include:Completing mark ups – in the open pit one person has a backpack with paint in it to spray the ground to show where the mobile plant operators should digOre spottingCollecting samples from open pit floor and stockpilesMaintaining stock levels and equipmentWashing and detailing vehiclesHelping other departments as requiredUsing computers – systems such as Excel (training provided)Working around large open pit mobile plant machinery such as dump trucks, dozers, excavatorsWorking in all-weather elements – in particular the heat during SummerWorking in a small team – 2-3 Pit Assistants + Senior Pit Operator on each crewMeal and rest breaks throughout the day5:15pm team LV back to camp (~10 minute drive)Training and development for the role is offered on site and the role is mostly outdoor manual labour type work.This role is offered on an initial 12-month fixed term contract basis, with the view it would lead to a permanent position after successfully completing the trainee program. It is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.
About you: You will have experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
