The Role
As the Aboriginal Student support officer, you will be the first point of for Aboriginal students. You will provide welfare monitoring and intervention support to assist the students to succeed. Through collaborative engagement with teachers and managers you will deliver support strategies to improve student retention and success.
To be successful in this role you will have a deep understanding, appreciation and demonstrated experience in working with the Aboriginal community. Responsibilities include but not limited to;
Support Aboriginal students to begin and continue their chosen studiesIdentify the students cultural and study requirementsMaintain case and file notes with accuracy in a timely mannerMonitor the student's engagement and success, completing reviews monthlyTake part in planning, development and presentation of programsProvide in class support to the students and teaching staffThe Benefits
