Every patient. Every time. About the job: Are you continuing into Year 11 in 2025? Are you looking for a way to gain experience to enter the workforce while you are completing your HSC? Our HNELHD School-Based Administration Traineeships are a great way to gain invaluable experience in administration and the health sector before you finish school. A school-based traineeship will allow you to gain a recognised qualification in Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration) with TAFE NSW in conjunction with your final two years of study at High School. School-based trainees (SBAT's) work part-time (one day per week, 7 hours) and contribute to your HSC via competency-based training. The traineeship will provide a range of learning opportunities that will provide you with the exploration of career opportunities and pathways in NSW Health or transition your skills in Administration for future employers in other industries. Some of the tasks you will undertake in your shift include data entry, record maintenance, filing and providing quality customer service. You'll be supported to learn how to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in written correspondence. We are looking for students who are motivated and excited to try something new. You enjoy communicating with a range of people and want to work as part of a team providing support to the community. There are multiple opportunities available across our District, with our staff situated across over 60 sites of hospitals, community health centres and corporate offices. During the two-year traineeship you will be supported by your HNELHD team, TAFE NSW, Apprenticeship Support Australia, other HNELHD SBAT's and your school. A training plan with the units of study will be provided to your manager to ensure that the tasks that you are learning are aligned with the units of study being completed. Requirements: Our successful candidate will possess the following: Completion of Year 10 or equivalent and continuing to Year 11 and 12 to complete HSC requirements. Demonstrate interest in working in the health industry. Demonstrate how you engage with your Aboriginal community. Demonstrate commitment to effectively manage both on and off the job training for the duration of the Traineeship. Demonstrate understanding and willingness to further develop administration skills and computer operations, including Microsoft Office. Demonstrate effective communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and honesty.
