Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.Primary ObjectiveTogether with the Manager Aboriginal Partnerships, consult and collaborate with Division staff, Aboriginal people and partner agencies to ensure effective engagement and relationships, and improve capacity and employment outcomes for Aboriginal joint management partners, Aboriginal stakeholders and employees.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesFoster effective relationships and partnerships to build capacity, promote economic opportunities and create positive outcomes for Aboriginal stakeholders and employees.Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable partnership approaches for Aboriginal development.Assist with identifying external resources and support opportunities through external partners to deliver program objectives.Professionally represent the Division and add value to agency partner and whole of Government Aboriginal engagement, employment and economic development programs.Support the development and delivery of the Department's Aboriginal Employment Strategy including the Division's Flexible Employment Program.Selection CriteriaEssentialDemonstrated ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures including Indigenous people, park managers, partner and stakeholder organisations.Experience working in a cross cultural environment with a diverse range of peoples and organisations, delivering programs relating to Indigenous engagement, employment, capacity building and development.Understanding of park joint management responsibilities and programs, Indigenous people's aspirations and an ability to support these programs as required.Understanding of cross cultural governance principles and ability to support governance training and capacity building processes as required.Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including those with English as a second language.Demonstrated capacity to problem-solve, think strategically and work effectively within a team and autonomously to deliver outcomes.A current Class C drivers licence and a willingness and ability to travel independently to regional and remote areas.DesirableAwareness of the economic, political, cultural and social environment in which the agency operates.
